Today’s Reader Question:
How will Project 2029 be compared to Project 2025? I predict it will be similar; however, it will likely be less detailed, have fewer pages, and instead have vague, less alarming language, like in prior publications. Kevin Roberts claims Heritage will release a Project 2029 Mandate for Leadership.
I have several theories about how Republicans will deal with Project 2029. I lay them out in this newsletter to start a discussion. Whatever happens on 5 November, we won’t be finished with Christo-fascist Republican theocrats. We must anticipate and prepare for their next moves if we hope to keep them away from the levers of power.
Theory 1: The public document is basic.
Heritage could publish a tract-like pamphlet that lays out broad-brush, opaque conservative policy goals. In parallel they would have a very detailed tactical manual, which would still be secret. Project 2025 is their long-term vision for a White Christian Nationalist male-led theocratic America. I believe much of their tactical manual would run off of Project 2025 policies, because they’ve already had so much success in red states and at the Supreme Court.
Theory 2: They publish a decoy Mandate for Leadership.
In this scenario, Heritage amasses its usual dense policy tome with less alarming, more indecipherable language. It could contain more palatable policy positions they never intend to implement but that are more popular with voters.
Concurrently, several contributors to Project 2025 work together on their 2029 tactical document, which they would keep secret. It would be their true 2029 Mandate for Leadership.
Theory 3: They go hard-core Dominionist.
Dominionists are trained to hide in plain sight until they achieve their targeted positions of leadership and influence. Their religious meetings and membership rosters would be akin to state secrets. They could lie about policy positions like abortion, immigration, the role of the federal government, Social Security and Medicare, and much more, all in an effort to capture their intended “mountain.” (For more on Dominionism, the New Apostolic Reformation, and their Seven Mountain Mandate, click HERE.)
Some could even run as Democrats in an effort to corrupt both sides of the aisle, only to switch sides once they attain political office. (This insidious tactic gave Republicans a supermajority in North Carolina, meaning it has worked already.)
Theory 4: They encourage or instigate domestic terror and blame Democratic leadership.
Americans have an abominable habit of blaming the party in charge for every bad thing. In this scenario, they do a light update to their Project 2025 playbook for 2029, keep it secret, and foster domestic terror around the country. They use a willing corporate media to stoke constant fear of violence, riding that sentiment to a red tsunami in the 2026 midterms. They continue using red states and corrupted courts to implement Project 2025.
Theory 5: They use a corrupted judicial branch to continue implementing Project 2025.
In its most recent cycle, the Supreme Court essentially gave the judicial branch (and thus themselves) virtually unchecked power to dismantle the federal government and implement Project 2025 policies. This Supreme Court has complete authority to decide which Presidential acts are official, for example, meaning they would almost certainly apply one set of rules to a Harris administration and another to a 45/Vance administration. The six conservatives have shown a stunning ability to interpret the law however they please, with no consequences.
So the Christo-fascists use red states and compliant courts to ban abortion and most contraception using the Comstock Act. Through lawsuits and rotten rulings, they disempower government entities like the Environmental Protection Agency, the Federal Trade Commission, the Department of Education, the National Institutes of Health, and more. Through court rulings, they create a federal Department of Life and allow the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to become a nationwide transgender healthcare and pregnancy outcome tracker. They even allow red states to sue blue states for violating their edicts and could order the withholding of federal funding to blue states.
In absence of aggressive, speedy federal court reform, this scenario could be our depressing reality.
What do YOU think? Will Project 2029 be different? How might Republicans and their billionaire overlords continue to force their will on Americans in a Democratic administration? The more scenarios we consider, the better prepared we can be.

Can we skip to the part where the Heritage Foundation is tagged (and bagged) as a hate group?
IMO. I think they will try to slide under the radar more and hide their new Project. I can see them running pawns and then switching from Democrats to Republicans. I don’t see the radical Christian Nationalists as loosening or changing their views. I’m sure that they think we are all damned to hell.
One thing that needs to be dealt with is SCOTUS. My hope would be after the election to bring charges against Thomas and Alito just like NY Mayor Eric Adams was charged. That is why it is so important to vote a straight blue ticket. Also when you vote make sure the non-partisan judges aren’t fascists. We need a majority in the House and Senate to get things done.
We still have work to do now to win this election. And then we start again…
