Christofascists inflict psychological terrorism on the masses. I see God as a malignant narcissist. So, none of this is a surprise. That's why I left the church. It's about control. They're not about love, compassion, empathy or critical thinking skills. I don't see how they are any different from a malignant narcissist. They run circles around each other, because no one takes fucking responsibility for their own fucking behavior. Children are still being sexually abused by good Christians. Nazis were good Christians too.

Here's a story that always brings me back to reality. Two Holocaust survivors were talking about what they are going to say to God when they meet him at the pearly gates. One said, he had a Holocaust joke for God. Well, they died and he told his joke to God. God said, that wasn't funny. The Holocaust survivor said, I guess you had to be there.

And our country lacks meaningful access to therapy. Americans need so much therapy. We will need SO MUCH THERAPY to recover from this abuse. I've had therapy and it still gets to me. Last night, I mentioned that I'm living in Spain because of how triggering the House Speaker's fucking face is. He is every smug, sanctimonious man from my youth. I'm willing to learn a whole new language at the age of 55 and move to a whole new place, because I know what these people are capable of.

Emotional intelligence is so lacking. I have multiple family members who are malignant narcissists. The whole fucking GQP is a trigger. Yale started a pilot program teaching emotional intelligence in my grandson's preschool. We need it EVERYWHERE. Do we ever get over what a lifetime crazy did to us? I just recently spent over $14,000.00 on therapy. I should have just moved to another country. But, I have to take myself with me when I go. Better finish the therapy.

Tato recommended a program for kids called The Right Question Institute. https://rightquestion.org I think they work with adults, too. Most resources are free.

This doesn't replace therapy when it's needed. Anyone who has been abused by narcissists needs therapy. I've said it before, but I'm sorry we share that experience. I read a recent article about how this kind of abuse alters peoples' brains. I believe that.

Their impatience and their unwarranted self-confidence ought to turn into Achilles heels for them. Instead we're letting them represent them as strengths.

EXACTLY. That's why I loved the questioning style of the folks at CNN with that Christo-fascist Republican from Louisiana. Keep pushing them into the corner so they look defensive and outraged. We don't have to be bullies about it. Just keep asking questions and making them answer the questions. Someone also cut off a combative member of 45's team the other day for not answering the questions asked and attacking her colleagues instead.

I can think of several questions for the debate:

1. Will you pass a national abortion ban? Yes or no. And I'm going to keep asking this question until you answer with a simple yes or no.

2. Will you authorize the Comstock Act? Yes or no. Same deal.

3. Will you outlaw IVF and contraception? Yes or no. Same deal. And if yes, what forms of contraception? (He won't know any, but still.)

4. When you talk about punishing your enemies, how far will you go? Because you've talked about it A LOT. So give the American people some examples of what you mean. Jailing them without a trial? Holding them in Stephen Miller's tent cities? Torture? Firing squads?

5. What are the Ten Commandments? Recite them for us.

6. As a thrice-married adjudicated rapist and enjoyer of extra-marital relations, will you do away with no-fault divorce? Or in any way pass laws or sign executive orders that tell Americans they cannot get divorced?

I could go on, but you get the idea. All we'd get will be word salad, but still. I'd like to see journalists ask him tough questions and MAKE HIM ANSWER THEM.

In a parallel universe this is happening. In our universe it's considered 'unfair'. 🤦

It's considered unfair TO THEM. I don't give a shit what they consider unfair. Yes, their base will use all this horrible woke "unfairness" to stoke outrage amongst themselves, but I don't think they're attracting many more people to their team at this point.

I mean that the media and the class of people who are responsible for moderating our public discourse consider it unfair. The other side has largely succeeded in setting the rules for the game, whether in this example or in a constitution that gives a huge edge to conservatives. And that's the problem.

I have theorized MAGA parents are the type who beat their kids. I don't mean spanking (although I find that abhorrent), but full-throttle pummeling, with screaming. My mother turned MAGA after voting Democratic her whole adult life. I honestly think she voted for 45 because it finally gave her license to be the person she truly was under the mask. After years of her abuse, her pivot to MAGA gave *me* license to go no contract in 2019.

Are you feeling better, Jen? Done with Covid?

CN churches teach “spare the rod and spoil the child.” They believe hitting children is Biblical. My mom used to worry about “some liberal” finding out they spanked us and not understanding (or outright rejecting) its supposed Biblical basis.

I’m sorry your relationship with your mom went this way. I relate, because we have gone no-contact with multiple family members, too.

I am better. I finished Paxlovid yesterday and I tested negative this morning. Thank you for asking.

I know I’m not alone in going no contact, which I find reassuring. The MAGA pivot was the final straw. She started picking fights with my husband and other family members. She has displayed her true colors to everyone and she has had negative consequences from that.

Thanks, buddy. I'll check it out. And I do as well, believe it changes our brains. I deal with it every damn day.

"They have high self-confidence. They have a strong belief in their own abilities and judgment, often to the point of dismissing others’ inputs." Dunning-Kruger effect writ large. Incompetent people do not know what they do not know. They are supremely, blissfully ignorant. When you get them in the college classroom, they are virtually unteachable.

These people are everywhere in our society. We’re not going to change them, but we must find a way to cordon and contain them.
