Kevin Roberts, the fascist Republican head of The Heritage Foundation and Project 2025’s main sponsor, basically said this last week: “If you resist Project 2025, we will kill you.” As he phrased it "if the Left will let it" [be bloodless]. This is akin to the wife-beater who says "Don't make me beat you." It's a preemptive framing of the victim as the aggressor.

It's conditioning people to obey in advance. Exactly. This is what fascists do. And I have no problem reframing his comment to what he really meant: If you resist, we will kill you.

Yes, exactly what he meant. Resistance will be crushed. And it will be all on us.

Imagine every National Park turns into drilling sites, fracking.

Imagine an overloaded mining bucket with 25 men..... like what they used to do to the Chinese in the 1700/1800s...... overload the bucket to get them all down there faster to work.

Imagine people of all ages losing lives, limbs and eyeballs because OSHA will be dismantled. None of them will have recourse for compensation.

Imagine all of the increased racial profiling in order to incarcerate black and brown so they can be forced into the mines to go to work for free.

Imagine the United States turning into a third world country full of ghettos, garbage everywhere, homeless people everywhere, starvation......all while the kings and queens live in fortified Castle surrounded by moats.

Imagine an apocalypse movie.

This is the world fascist Republicans and their billionaire overlords want us to live in. You're not exaggerating. This is not hyperbole.

My husband was talking to a coworker yesterday and she mentioned to him she was trying to get a passport to an EU country her parents are from. She is South African by birth, I think. She told my husband about Project 2025 and she said she didn't know much about it, but she was concerned about "forced Christianity." That's basically all she knew about it. My husband wanted to tell her more, because I send him these newsletters, but he thought it might be in violation of the Hatch Act.

Also, my husband is a federal bank examiner and he was told out right by his boss a couple of months ago his job is not guaranteed if 45 worms his way back in to power. I am sure everyone is confident in Semaphore Alito's and Clarence Thomas' expertise in risk and compliance.

Would it be a violation for you to send her a link to this Substack? I'm married to a civil servant, so I understand how seriously many of them take their ethical responsibilities.

And at least his boss is preparing the team. If I recall, your husband was very much a guardrails-will-hold person several months ago. I'm relieved to get a sense that maybe he understands the stakes now, because it enables you to make collective decisions for yourselves.

I am not sure he would be comfortable with that. I will ask him, but I can see him saying no.

I think me sending him/discussing these newsletters, seeing people like Joy Reid talk about Project 2025 and the press going full-on assault on Joe Biden while ignoring of Trump’s bull shit snapped him into reality. I am finally getting the required paperwork notarized this weekend to apply for my Irish passport. He is the one chasing me up on it. He also canceled our NYT subscription and told them why.

I wish you so much ease and success with that process. I'm in classes with Irish people all the time. They're always lovely.

If anyone thinks that child labor won't happen, take a look at this:

https://www.latimes.com/business/story/2024-06-25/meat-processing-plant-fined-nearly-400000-for-child-labor-violations

Would the Trump Justice Dept. prosecute?

They would not. In a fascist Republican regime, situations like this will be the norm. They will be accepted business practice.

Where did you get that graph? It seems like something we should be sharing far AND wide.

Good. I like your video even though I also share your dislike for making them. I’m also tired of being afraid. Fear is not a good look.

I deal with fear by taking action. It can be work to save democracy, but it can also be taking a nap (which is what I did for 2 hours this afternoon.) :)

I love hearing your voice! I don’t mean that weirdly. Your voice is reassuring.

I think the Sexvangelical idea is swell! They’re great, and so very intelligent and educational. Their views and expertise is so very valuable!

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, thank you, from the bottom of my heart! I’d give you so much more if I could. Your message, and the way you convey it, is so important!

To me, you’re the OG of dissecting Project 2025!

Unfortunately, I have very few people in my life that I can change their minds. I’ve tried, and like you said, it’s impossible.

Andra, Can you share a link to the research paper?

Simon Rosenberg repeatedly shares graphs using data from Bureau of Labor Stats with GOP vs Dem Admin job creation. The difference is astonishing !

I'm not sure if the research paper I'm quoting tomorrow and Thursday is available online. I will ask. But I'll also share links to the website.

If you're talking about the graph, I put a link to that story in my comment reply to Kevin King. I'll replicate it here. https://themilsource.com/2021/02/11/why-does-us-economy-perform-better-under-democrats-than-republicans/

I cannot click on the "Year Later" tab of the graph, probably because I'm not a subscriber to The Mil Source. Would someone that is able please click that and share the resulting graph here? I'd like to see all three graphs side by side. TIA!
