How YOU Can Tell Everyone You Know About Project 2025
Americans must be told what Christo-fascist Republicans have planned for them well before Election Day
Today marks four months until American voters decide. Do we want to live in an imperfect but free democracy? Or do we want a Christo-fascist theocracy run by Republicans who say things like, “If you resist, we will kill you”?
I know. I know. The Heritage Foundation guy actually said, “We are in the process of the second American Revolution, which will remain bloodless if the left allows it to be.” To-ma-to. To-mah-to.
I also know Americans are bombarded with requests for money. Every day, I get emails and text messages from Democrats who plea for $3, $7, any dollars. If Democrats were as efficient and focused in communicating everything Republicans do to make Americans lives worse, this election wouldn’t be close. (Some argue Democrats should communicate how we make American lives better, but I don’t think that message lands when people believe their lives are worse. We should blame the people who make everything worse - Republicans.)
I understand the growing calls to make this work 100% paywall-free. So let me give readers a peek behind the curtain at How Project 2025 Will Ruin YOUR Life.
I am the only person doing this work. I write my own copy. Do my own research. Conduct my own interviews. I search for the right images and manage my online space alone.
I can’t afford to pay an editor, so my husband reads posts over my shoulder to make sure I’m hitting my points (on top of working a stressful public-facing job.)
I’m my own sound recording team. I read my own content, record it at a microphone in my bedroom, and mix and upload it myself, despite the fact that I have no idea how to use the recording program. My head explodes every time I try to watch a video of some sound guy explaining how to edit sound files.
To try to get this work in front of more eyeballs, I give interviews. I can’t pay a publicist to pitch me, meaning I’m my own publicist. I spend hours researching contact information for various outlets and pitching myself. My success rate is one yes per twenty or so pitches, which sounds brutal but is typical.
I write articles for third parties from time-to-time, though I am only paid for them if they are new content written for an outlet, not work taken verbatim from this space.
I’m my own marketing director and social media manager, despite the fact that I suck at making graphics. I don’t know how to put snappy videos together. I have zero artistic talent. Every time someone suggests an idea for marketing content, a part of my soul dies, because every single one of those ideas means taking time from this work and spending money I don’t have. I do share my content with the Lincoln Project/Resolute Square and Deepak Puri at Democracy Labs, and they turn it into graphics. (This is not an added source of income.)
I give online presentations and speak to groups. Occasionally, people pay me a small honorarium, but those have mostly dried up now that bigger names have started talking about Project 2025. (I’m not bitter. Everyone talking about Project 2025 can still make a difference before November if they make it about what this Fascist Republican plan will do to average Americans.)
I personally read and respond to every comment. This community is packed with intelligent, thoughtful people who contribute so much value to this space. To limit trolling and protect myself and my sanity, I only allow paid subscribers to comment.
I don’t take advertising dollars. I’m not an influencer. I will never tell anyone to buy or support something I don’t personally believe in.
But you have books for sale, Andra! Surely you make money from those to support this work. Anyone with an extra two minutes can read why I make practically nothing from a 10-year body of work HERE. It’s a good lesson in why so many Americans feel like everything sucks while being told the economy is remarkable.
These tasks add up to between forty and fifty hours a week. This space has become more than a full-time job. I’m also a full-time language student.
Online information doesn’t appear out of the ether, unless it’s bots and AI and deep fakes. Anyone who reads my list of tasks above cannot argue this is not a lot of work. People who are still doing the good work need to be paid for it. Someday, Americans may understand that creating good information takes money, especially in a world where rich people use their staggering wealth to create and disseminate bad information. But that day is not today.
Still from the beginning, I made it possible for every reader to have paid access to this space without ever paying me a cent. YOU CAN SHARE IT WITH YOUR CONTACTS.
A small cadre of warriors have shared this work with enough people to have paywall-free access for life. They can comment. They can contact me directly. They have access to everything I’ve written since day one. They never ever ever see a paywall. I don’t treat them any differently than people who pay me money.
If you convince three people to subscribe to this space - free or paid - you get a month of paywall-free access. Convince five people to subscribe - free or paid - that jumps to three months. So getting five people to subscribe gives you paywall-free access until one month before the election.
Here’s where you can go to tell everyone you know about How Project 2025 Will Ruin YOUR Life.
I love my country, but this is not a passion project. I am risking my life to convey this information before the election. I won’t be popular with the new regime if we lose. Also, reliving childhood trauma and religious abuse and reimagining it while not burdening you with it or making it about me isn’t fun. But it’s necessary work. It’s vital work. It’s work that will help Americans understand the stakes in this election, if only they can find it.
Project 2025 may prove to be THE most urgent matter in this election.
That's why I subscribed to How Project 2025 Will Ruin Your Life, and you should, too.
Thank you so very much for the work you are doing. I am now a paid subscriber and doing my best to pass this MOST URGENT MESSAGE on. I’m at a loss as to why bigger platforms are not picking this up and running with it…. This is what every democrat should be talking about.
