It's about control. Everything is about control. They don't want to govern. They want to rule. I can't believe we are here in 2024.

I’m drafting paid subscriber posts to address this and the removal of guardrails now, and I keep being struck by their arrogance to force their will on society as “order.” It isn’t anything new. But it incenses me all the same. I know what this does to people. I will pay for the rest of my life. I don’t want that for millions of Americans.

If using birth control undermines God's will, I wonder how they truly feel about IVF? Perhaps it is God's will for a couple to be unable to conceive? Given the recent uproar about it, it seems to have much ambivalence amongst the GOP. I never thought I would be happy turning 50, but thanks to these policies and other nonsense they've recently implemented, I am.

This is such a great question, Jen.

Christian Nationalists view fertility issues as “God withholding the blessing of a baby.” Maybe it is down to punishment for hidden sin. Or to get the woman’s attention. Or because God’s timing is perfect, and he says now isn’t the time. They do not believe women should be able to interfere in God’s process because women may miss an important lesson for their spiritual development.

Five days ago CNN did a story about G.D. Searle Pharmaceutical Co. They produce birth-control pills. Also the drug for medical abortions. They made billions. Yet, they support Conservative policies that end women's right to manage their own choices. They support and give millions to politicians who support Project 2025. So, how in the fuck does that work? They live lavish lives of the ultra wealthy while taking away women's right to effective health care. Apparently, the latest dead heir is making this happen from his grave. I guess they have enough money to crush souls without consequences. Fucking Billionaires will step over dead bodies for power and wealth.

I can't wait to see the potential dads standing in line waiting to pony up financial support for an embryo. Hell, it's hard to get them to pay for the birthed ones. These will be rich. What a fucking joke!!

Ya know, the Chattel Project didn't say anything about Viagra. When they start locking up the condoms, maybe the males will pay attention. Welcome to the Dark Ages.

And they will never ban viagra. It is a man’s god-given right to be horny.

Hahaha!! The military spends 84 million a year on it. Newt Gingrich would start a war.

It is common practice in our “politicians are legislative prostitutes selling their votes to the highest bidder” form of government to give to both sides. I’m not sure about Searle, but the donor class (both individual and corporate) often gives money to both sides to hedge their bets and buy influence either way.

It is gross.

I may be stretching with condoms but I don’t think so. If they wanted to ban man made female contraception, it would help to make sure male condoms aren’t included in that list. Either way, it reveals their tactical intention to ban man made contraception, at least for women. I have no doubt that’s their endgame.

You're right. They want forced births. They will get them anyway they can. There is no shortage of dumb ass politicians that will shoot their own foot to make this happen. Like the goddamn idiot that wrote the FURRIES BILL. My hope is as much as the pendulum is swinging to encourage men to drag their own knuckles and carry their balls, so we know they have them. Women and the good men out there will vote to take the people's power back. But, with Leo's Court of Supreme Court Jesters, well, I just don't know.

They want women to fulfill their God-ordained role: wife; submit to and be a helpmeet to husband; have children; be a mother; stay home.

Calling that forced-birth dulls the edge of what they actually want, which is women hidden in their homes, reliant on men, removed from society, uneducated and subservient.

I really hate these fuckin people. They can't just mind their own fuckin business.

This should be one of the questions for politicians on your list, I can't remember if it was, I need to double check but regardless - every person should know birth control is absolutely at risk.

Stop voting republican.

Millions of females in this country rely on actual birth control, no one wants the rhythm method or the pull out method, those are fake science.

This is all rooted in misogyny, they might try to clock it in some God bible shit, but millions of people in this country see right through it, the christain taliban is so transparent...... this is masculine christianity, man is head of the world. And the bible is nothing but misogynistic shit anyway.

I didn’t include this as a question because if they answer yes to the “life begins at conception/fertilization” question, you will know how they feel about contraception.

Several religions promote patriarchy and misogyny as “God’s design.” Where God is also a man. God as a man definitely limits and insults God. I use “he” and “his” in my writing here because they do, not because I believe God is male. Any god worthy of worship should not be so easily quantifiable, IMO.

And yes. STOP VOTING REPUBLICAN.

I hope this post encourages people to vote blue. And prompts women of child-bearing age to be proactive about this issue now. If you’re done having kids, get sterilized. If you aren’t sure, stock up on morning after pills and abortion medication. Don’t wait until they outlaw all contraception to decide what to do.

It would also be wise to have over-the-counter pregnancy tests on hand, because I think they’ll make those impossible to buy. If they force women to have a pregnancy test in a medical facility, it will be easier to track her pregnancy outcome.

Yep.....leave it up to some archaic ancient tribal man to claim he was created in God's image. And then write it down on some papyrus scroll that haunts us over 2,000 years later.

I sometimes wonder whether humans were more advanced 100K or 500K years ago. And then some narcissistic bunch shared a bunch of oral stories that were basically “Let’s see how this fucks up the future,” and some other narcissists wrote them down, and here we are. With another bunch of arrogant, entitled, greedy narcissists doing the same thing to our collective future.

Where did I read something about when and why God switched from being female to male, and it having something to do with humans settling and agriculture? I know there's the whole 'seed' thing, but I feel like maybe there was more to it and it had something to do with adapting for a survival advantage in those circumstances? Idk, it's trying to figure out how evolution and biology determine culture, and that's above my level of knowledge here. Beyond that I always blame testosterone because while it's a vital substance it's also a poison in my view. And there's what are the differences between optimal (for evolution) male reproductive strategies and optimal female reproductive strategies. Basically I'm always looking for explanations in the math. Because I can't think of any other good reasons for men to be shit :) (If it's cultural, because we always have been, it still begs the question of why and how it started).

And what about folks who need to take bcp to help with other things like PMDD? I know that they'd just say that as long as you stay pregnant like a good little drone, it's not a problem... Makes me want to scream.

All female issues are God’s judgment because Eve ate the fruit first and tempted Adam to fall with her. So it is a woman’s duty to suffer. I wish I were kidding. I wish so many people didn’t believe this, but they do. It’s all I heard when I got my period. And through every bout of cramps (that the pill could’ve resolved but nope.)

I love how their all-powerful god is so easily defeated by human made devices (that all have some failure rate; if you believe their story, even perfect abstinence has failed once).

Right? It is a maddening world to be in or around. So much of it is white men telling everyone what to do in God’s name.
