The female personhood election.

That sounds right. We are in a fight for the future of all humanity in reality We are here now. I hope and pray that we choose wisely.

I do have faith we will win. Like I told my husband, “I have faith in my neighbors to do the right thing, just not my actual neighbors!”We live in Oklahoma.

One of my neighbors has a daughter doing her OB-GYN residency at Rutgers. He is saddened because she will most likely not be returning to Florida to practice medicine. This is what abortion bans are doing! We could become an OB-GYN desert…

I hope he's voting blue. (I say that because you've talked about your red neighborhood in the past.) Because that could mean she'd return to Florida to practice medicine.

One of my neighbors had rump flags up from 2015 until last year. Nothing since! I’m feeling safer.

I am 75, have 3 daughters, female friends & acquaintances & 10 grandchildren, 5 of whom are female. It angers me that my daughters & granddaughters will not have the same rights I fought for when I joined NOW in 1972. Thank you for your links to Project 2025 & your continuing fight to educate us!

Women are going to come through for us. I'm proud to be fighting for every woman on your list.

Expand full comment

Everything you said is true. Women are fighting for their lives and losing in red states.

One thing that’s overlooked, and I hope I’m wrong, is women wanting to have their tubes tied or receive hysterectomies will be denied those procedures. After all, a woman’s purpose is to be a breeding livestock.

CN’s will take away all rights from women. It nauseates, frightens and angers me.

Project 2025 doesn't say anything about tubal ligation or hysterectomies, and red states haven't yet targeted those procedures. But I could see Republicans with unchecked power deny people of child-bearing age those procedures. Vasectomies, too.

I was in my early 40s when I opted for sterilization, and my doctor still questioned me and tried to talk me out of it.

Expand full comment

I put nothing past them.

It’s outrageous that a doctor would question your decision for sterilization, yet they do. I had a medically necessary hysterectomy at 48.

The war against women is a multi millennial feature of the patriarchy.

So many chronic female reproductive ailments severely restrict quality of life. I think of all the women with severe endometriosis and other conditions that make some seek hysterectomies in their 20s and 30s. I could totally see Republicans telling those people to suck it up and suffer.

These men are so vile and disgusting. Joel Webbon is an author of the Christian Nationalist manifesto we're decoding after the election. Also eager to stone women to death publicly for accusing men of rape.

Right, stone the women so the churches can keep on covering it up. Kristin Kobes Du Mez's 'For Our Daughters' documentary on systematic coverups of sex abuse in christian churches includes some disturbing footage of him. He is evil. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IkES4X_qb6c)

Here's a good article about what Jesse waters, Pastor Dale partridge and Newt Gingrich had to say about Republican women that vote for Harris..... summary of their comments: these women are essentially cheating on their husbands by not listening to them to vote for trump, women should do exactly as their man says as he is head of the household.

That's the new US they want to create for women....we are effectively not even citizens, we don't need to vote nor have a voice.

And they aren’t even trying to hide it. But they never did in the church of my youth, either.

I am just done reading Jessica Valenti of Abortion, Every Day Substack talking about how conservatives are Joking about how they want to get rid of women's right to vote.

This is right in line with what you are discussing here. In the beginning of your talk to Democrats Abroad I heard an audio being played where men were saying things like they wanted to go back to the Middle Ages.I assume they don't mean for dental care, but for women to be subservient. The hullabaloo about the ad where Julia Roberts is telling women that they don't have to vote like their husbands, which should be obvious, will probably make it harder for those women to vote, because now instead of following their husbands to the polls with their children, he will either make them stay home from voting, or have them get mail in voting and control the ballot. What we would have to do to protect women from that is frightening to me.

Still, I think there is a big blue wave of women voting. Let us hope it is a Tsunami and it washes away these horrid fascist ideas and takes away their power.

I shared her newsletter with a female personhood message. I know abortion is galvanizing, but we are fighting for our personhood. Not only our reproductive rights. Our right to vote. Our right to own property. Our right to exit abusive marriages. Our right to work. Our right to higher education. Our right to credit. Our right to bank accounts. Our right to passports. All of it. These gross, vile men would do away with all of it. Which is why I've decided "female personhood" is the thing we need to vote for, advance, and protect.

This is indeed the female personhood election. The next one, if we get to have one (under Trump, that may not happen) could very well be about female suffrage. Plenty of anti-19th A crazies out there. Vance being the leader of the pack.

I keep saying this fight won't be over on Election Day. We must keep winning to push these people back under their rocks. Women will get us over the finish line, and the anti-19th crazies will get even worse. But we can beat them. WE CAN DO THIS.
